Description
Applying the Patch
What you need?
– Iron (or heat-press if you have one)
– Ironing board (or place a few shirts on a hard surface if you don’t have one)
– Thermometer to measure iron’s temperature or match clothing material with iron setting
– Baking paper, hanker-chief or thin cloth between the iron, patch and garment
Steps
– Iron on temperature should be 132 degrees celsius (plus or minus 10 degrees is acceptable).
– Use a thermometer to measure the heat by placing it between the iron and the garment.
– Make sure the garment you are using can withstand the heat.
Step 1: Preheat the garment area for 30s where the patch will be applied.
(using the baking paper / hanker-chief / thin cloth between iron and garment)
Step 2: Place the patch over the area you want & press for 30s.
(also use the baking paper / hanker-chief / thin cloth between iron and patch)
Step 3: Do not move the iron around (otherwise the heat will dissipate quickly).
Step 4: Hold it down for a further 30s applying some pressure (if possible, do this standing to create more down-ward pressure).
Step 5: Reinforce the iron patch onto the garment by heating the back.
(also use the baking paper / hanker-chief / thin cloth between iron and garment)
